Subsidized Rental Program
DP’s Subsidized Rental Program serves self-producing artists, dance and theater companies, non-profit service organizations, and educational institutions needing affordable space to showcase work. This program is best suited for folks who want a full service location. Amenities:
- Entire facility is physically accessible
- State-of-the-art theater with complete lighting and sound packages, projection equipment, grand piano, sprung floor, and a dressing room with a private restroom and shower
- Full technical support, with lighting design if requested; when open to the public, front of house support includes ticketing, box office, program printing, and marketing support.
- Mirrored rehearsal studio with piano
- Cocktail lounge with small removable raised stage
- 6 public restrooms (2 ADA compliant)
- Dixon Place is set up for live streaming (but you need to provide your own camera/s and camera crew)
Because of the amenities, professional services, and accessibility DP offers, many companies return annually. Past participants in SRP include New Georges, Siti Theater Conservatory, Pen Festival, Lama Theatre Company, Inclined Dance, Sarah Lawrence College, The Field, NYC Dance Parade, White Wave Dance Festival, Visions Contemporary Ballet, Russian Children’s Studio, Raghavan Indian Classical Dance, among dozens of others.
COVID-19 compliance is mandatory. Current compliance includes proof of vaccination and personal identification and masks are required (with the exception of performers on stage). Until city/state officials issue a mandate with additional specific protocols and seating restrictions, Dixon Place will continue to operate at full capacity.
