what’s this called, this spirit? Jeanna Phillips, with music by Scouts

About This Show

Scored by Scouts’ incisive harmony-driven art-rock, this concert-play follows Oklahoma!-obsessed Ruthie and her one-girl radio show, as her family pulls up roots from Circle Back, Oklahoma, and makes for an uncertain future in California.

This is an AEA Approved Showcase.

About the Artists

Scouts is a band and sound design collective based in Brooklyn. United by a reverence for ritual and an irreverence for convention, we make keening harmonies, spindly strings, droning brass, and dirty beats with whatever instruments we can get our hands on. Our music and sound design has been heard at The McKittrick Hotel, The Bowery Electric, Littlefield, The Brick, Ars Nova, Galapagos Art Space, Theatre for a New City, Arts@Renaissance, and Dixon Place, and as a score for web series Roof Access.
