About the Artist

Lydia Breckon is a graduate in BA (Hons) in English and Drama from the University of Exeter, England. She is currently studying at NYU Tisch as part of their Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program as a composer. She spent last year as part of a theatre residency at Theatre Royal Plymouth (England), and is excited to make new connections (and theatre!) on this side of the pond.

Jackson Payne Brothers is a composer/lyricist, violinist, pianist, and singer, and teaches violin, piano, and music theory. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Composition and Violin Performance from the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Music. In addition to writing for musical theatre, Jackson has composed for orchestras and small instrumental ensembles, and is currently working on the music, book, and lyrics for his original musical Edge of the Box. Jackson has served as a community theatre pit violinist and has had the opportunity to tour Europe and perform in the 2015 Alternative Press Music Awards orchestra. As a pianist, he has music directed a cabaret show at Brothers Lounge and the world premiere of Secrets: The Musical at 54 Below. He is also a runner and enjoys competing in 5K and 10K races. Jackson currently lives in New York City and is enrolled in the graduate program for Musical Theatre Writing at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Since moving to the city, he has performed as a violinist in a few live music venues, including a performance with the local band He & He. Jackson is thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase his work at Dixon Place with his incredibly talented classmates and collaborators.

Erin Marie Hoercher is a theatrical composer, soprano, and musical director who has shared her “infectious enthusiasm for her work” (Amy Wilder, Columbia Tribune) with the Missouri Contemporary Ballet, St. Louis Symphony Musicians, and performers at New York University, University of Missouri, Grinnell College, and Stephens College. She has been awarded the ASCAP Frederick Loewe Scholarship. She won 1st Prize for Elementals for string quartet in the Webster University Young Composers Competition, the Eric T. Schabacker Recording and Music Business Scholarship, and was named a finalist for the Sinquefield Prize. She earned a Bachelor of Music in Composition from the University of Missouri, and currently attends the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
