Three Madeline Barr, Julia Blauvelt and Allison Taaffe

About This Show

Macbeth’s Three Witches bake a birthday cake. Jan and Cindy Brady cast a spell on Marcia’s broken nose. Goneril and Regan of King Lear clean up after a wild night of drinking, and all Kim Kardashian wants to do is go to Moscow. Five different worlds collide in this breakneck pop-culture meets“culture” mashup of epic proportions, culminating in a single mission: to test the bond of sisterhood to its breaking point.

About the Artists

Madeline Barr, Julia Blauvelt and Allison Taaffe are New York-based actors and writers. They met in the summer of 2014 while working with Richard Shechner to devise Imagining O, which was named a New York Times Critic’s Pick. Inspired by the idea of fusing classical and contemporary texts, they wrote their first draft of Three in the spring of 2015; it was workshopped at NYU’s Experimental  Theatre Wing. In real life, each of these ladies is the eldest of two sisters.
