Incorporating documentary and narrative storytelling, this thirty minute play explores the lives of LGBT inhabitants of a conservative country off the Persian Gulf. This Place tells the story of two men coming to terms with their impending separation, interspersed with anonymous interviews focusing on queer life in a traditional Islamic country.

about the artist

Adam Pivirotto is a young playwright and filmmaker. He recently completed a two year art and education fellowship at NYU Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, during which he wrote and directed two short films and a full length play. His short film, METHODS, was featured on and premiered at the Richmond International Film Festival in March 2017.
