A prima ballerina, a messenger, a queen, a hero, and a villain. All reside within a large box carried by an elderly man. A celebration of the rich tradition of oral storytelling and the words that stay with us long after we leave the theater.

About the Artists

Peter Charney has been working as an actor, director, and filmmaker for over 15 years. Currently in his second year at Hofstra University, Peter is pursuing a BFA in Theatre Production with a Directing concentration. This past year, Peter has worked as the assistant director for numerous productions at the 13th Street Repertory Company. As an actor, Peter’s performed in over 35 productions, varying from regional theater and national tours to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He’s very thankful to be presenting this piece at Dixon Place, and is excited to be working again with one of his favorite actors.

Matt Engle is a recent graduate of Hofstra University, where he earned a BFA in Theatre Arts. This past July, he performed The Life of the Theatre in conjunction with the Living Theatre’s latest work, No Place to Hide, and at the APAP Festival in January. He performed the role of Juliet in Romeo/Juliet at the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and will be returning this summer to assistant direct Uncompromising Artistry’s production of RENT.  He is delighted to be performing this piece and proud to be sharing the work of this talented director and Hofstra student.
