About This Show

She Buried Her Pistol explores the legacy of my great-grandmother, Cora and the decades she spent incarcerated in a state mental asylum from the 1930’s to the 1960’s. Guided by physical relics, family recollections, and medical records, I hope to explore and trace the impact of Cora’s history onto notions of gender, family, and ancestry.
