In the Lounge Prism and Dewdrop’s Cult Sing-Along Fran Pado
About This Show
Hell takes many forms. In this hilarious, painful battle between haggard cult devotees, you’ll sing along with Prism and Dewdrop, two middle aged 70’s burnouts with ravished faces and frail selves. They grapple for the love, or at least sexual attention, of their long dead cult leader whose rotting corpse graces the stage. And they, frozen at 14 yrs., recreate, again and again, their yearning for adult male approval. Much Ado About Nothing and Stage Door meet the fierce courage of Mx. Vivian Bond’s Kiki in this bio-feminist roller coaster of laughter and tears.
About the Artists
Fran Pado – performer who writes spooky fairy tales for grown-ups. Often accompanied by her psych-folk band, GODDESS, she spins tales of evil aliens, blue-collar N.J., child abuse, poverty…all through the lens of witches, gnomes, and trolls. She’s performed her one-person musical, Grinny, twice at Dixon in the Lounge.
Hannah Bleier – performance artist and poet. Hannah has been a part of the Los Angeles performance art scene since the late ’80’s and is known for her confrontational yet humorous style. Her warmth and audience rapport allow her to open doors to difficult topics and she prefers working with non-traditional theatre audiences. She attended the prestigious Marge Piercy writing seminar in 2016.
