PORT CITIES NY Talya Chalef

About This Show

Using a live score by looping artist Cameron Orr, visuals by Horus Vacui and an ensemble that move, morph and mix between early settler icons and current day characters caught up in a world of systems and structures, PORT CITIES NY investigates the ghosts of Wall Street in an absurd immersive tour.   Examining the 2008 economic crash against the backdrop of 17th Century Dutch Tulip Mania, the archeological discovery of a slave burial ground against commercial investments that incentivize mass incarceration, Port Cities NY aims to link the echoes of the past with the agendas of today.
