PICK A COLOR follows four women over the course of a holiday season at their local nail salon. It’s a play about surviving the present together with resilience and strength. It is a celebration and examination of womanhood from the inside-out.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Emily Feldman (Playwright) — Emily’s work has been developed by The Playwrights’ Center, Colt Coeur, Actors Theatre of Louisville, The Magic Theatre, The Alliance Theatre, Roundabout Theatre Company, and The Playwrights Realm. She has been an Alliance/Kendeda finalist, Ashland New Play Festival Winner, and a member of The Working Farm at SPACE on Ryder Farm. She’s currently a member of I-73 at Page73 and The Orchard Project NYC Greenhouse. Emily is a recent Jerome Fellow at The Playwrights’ Center and is the 2017-2018 Shank Playwright in Residence at Playwrights Horizons. This summer she’ll be working on a new play at The New Harmony Project. MFA in playwriting: UC San Diego. BA: Middlebury College.

Will Detlefsen (Director) — Will most recently directed an adaptation of Sophie Treadwell’s Machinal at Jack in Brooklyn. Select credits at UCSD include Tennessee Williams’ Vieux Carré, Ionesco’s Rhinoceros, and Emily Feldman’s Go. Please. Go. Previous work at Dixon Place includes T. Adamson’s House & Variations in the 2014 HOT! Fest and Toni Schlesinger’s The Mystery of Pearl Street. Assisting: Tony Taccone, Des McAnuff, Rachel Chavkin, Young Jean Lee.
