PANK and FOLDER magazines are teaming up to present a monthly poetry reading series in the lounge at Dixon Place. Each month, two poets will read. Join us for 40 minutes of new lit and a drink after work!

About the Artists

Jennifer Franklin‘s poetry has appeared in Blackbird, Boston Review, Gettysburg Review, Guernica, The Journal, The Nation, New England Review, [PANK], The Paris Review, Plume, Poem-A-Day, Poetry Daily, Prairie Schooner, Salmagundi, Southwest Review, Upstreet, Verse Daily, and Western Humanities Review. Her first full-length collection, Looming, won the 14th Annual Editor’s Prize from Elixir Press. She teaches poetry workshops and seminars at The Bowery Poetry Club and The Hudson Valley Writers’ Center, where she serves as Program Director and curates the reading series. She lives in New York City and coedits Slapering Hol Press.

Emily Skillings is the author of Backchannel (Poor Claudia) and Linnaeus: The 26 Sexual Practices of Plants (No, Dear/Small Anchor Press). Her first full-length collection of poetry, Fort Not, will be published by The Song Cave later this year. Skillings is the recipient of a 2017 Pushcart Prize, and recent poems can be found in Brooklyn Rail, BOMB, Hyperallergic, jubilat, Pleiades, and Washington Square. She lives in Brooklyn, where she is a member of the Belladonna* Collaborative. She co-hosts the monthly reading series EARSHOT with Allyson Paty.
