HOT Festival Me-Wee’s Playhouse – Juneteenth in July! by Nicole Hill

About This Show
Part performance art – Part play-date – 100% social experiment, Me-Wee’s Playhouse is a child-like space for grown-ass folk to explore, with a beginner’s mind, our “United States of Traumatization” by way of finding a measure of levity in our inability to discuss issues of race! WAIT… IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE? Led by “Me-Wee”, a seemingly mild-mannered monster and “Chuckle and Suck”, the singing clown-tits colonialism caused her to grow; the project invites audiences to push past the edges of discomfort to possibly discover their very own societally spawned monster(s) to both heal and wield to build new worlds.
About the Artist
Nicole Hill is a classically trained actress who has worked on Broadway and Off, both off stage and on. She has toured regionally and abroad, most notably as standby for “Da Singer ” in Savion Glover’s “Bring in Da Noise Bring Da Funk”. Her work mixes a love of language, music, puppetry, animation and the absurd, with a love of “woo-woo” wisdoms and whimsy to create “Inner-tainment”, art that encourages audiences to go within, be it themselves, enlightening conversations, or constructs ripe for reconstruction. Ultimately, she invites audiences to join her in creating new worlds by exploring our shared “Goof-vinty”.
