Little Theatre Curated by Frank Boudreaux, Normandy Raven Sherwood, Katie Rose McLaughlin, James Allister Sprang & Jeffrey M. Jones

About This Show

The OBIE Award-Winning Little Theatre—a more-or-less monthly presentation of new theatre, dance, performance & media, more-or-less curated by Frank Boudreaux, Normandy Raven Sherwood, Katie Rose McLaughlin, James Allister Sprang & Jeffrey M. Jones—continues its sixteenth season.

The August iteration will feature new work by Sam Ashford, Gabrielle D’Angelo, Zachary Fabri and Rin(don) Johnson, curated by James Allister Sprang.

Scheduled performances include:

UNDECIDED, NOT APATHETIC
created and performed by Sam Ashford
A presentation of images, text, and voice.

THE DISTANCE BETWEEN ME AND US IS SMALL: PART II
choreographed by Gabrielle D’Angelo & Christhian Diaz
performed by Gabrielle D’Angelo
This is the second part of a three-part dance performance. What we are presenting in these performances are sculptures. We have been developing movement that is stationary and meant to be walked around like a sculpture. It was initially a way for us to deal with dance in the space of an art gallery but it has quickly become an engaging approach to making work. An image of picket fences might pull our arms in straight lines and sharp angles, while a sculpture of a relaxed cat might find our bodies in long stretches. We’ll also try to walk up a mountain, pretending the floor to be slanted at a steep angle.

AIR CONDITION
created and performed by Zachary Fabri
Hot sauce situation and ice cream freedom.

PASSING 4 BLK
created and performed by Rin(don) Johnson
‘‘Won’t you celebrate with me what i have shaped into a kind of life?’’ – Lucille Clifton
