A deeply confident college grad takes a stab at ‘trying’ in order to get her job back at the political campaign for a woman running for mayor of Independence, Missouri.
As Julia and her best friend Carl both reel from failure at their respective entry-level positions (hers an office assistant job at the campaign which she applied to on a whim because AOC…) they hatch a plan to use Julia’s one professional connection in the town to live no one’s dream!
About the Artist
Sam Shanker is a Brooklyn based writer. Her short play, Raisenettes won the James E. Michael Playwriting Award at Kenyon College and debuted at the First Run Theatre in St. Louis. She has worked on the Broadway musical Mean Girls and the Netflix series, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
