IMRE LODBROG ET SA PETITE AMIE: THE NORMANDY SESSIONS Imre Lodbrog & Barbara Browning

About This Show

Imre Lodbrog is a semi-fictional French rock star who agreed to have Barbara Browning help him write his story. Browning pushes things forward by imagining weird adventures, and then she and Lodbrog go and live them. They document their exploits and revise the story as they go, pausing every few months to report back to their public. In this episode, they’ll tell the story of their foiled attempt to play the only club in Conches-en-Ouche, Normandy, where they were sidelined by doppelgängers going by the suspect name of Lil’ Red and the Rooster. Don’t worry, though – they more than made up for it in the legendary “Normandy Sessions.” The evening will commence with a short illustrated reading, followed by a live set of songs.

About Artist

Imre Lodbrog is the greatest French rock star you’ve never heard of. Six months ago he released an EP on vinyl (IMRE LODBROG ET SA PETITE AMIE) and launched it at the Hôtel Particulier here in New York. It’s being distributed by Hueso Records. He is, as we’ve said, semi-fictional.

Barbara Browning is a novelist, performance theorist and amateur ukuleleist. Her first novel, The Correspondence Artist, won a Lambda Award. Her second novel, I’m Trying to Reach You, was short-listed for The Believer Book Award. She teaches in the Department of Performance Studies at NYU. She is a real person.
