Dixon Place Hosts: Hercules in Matto Grosso Americas Society in collaboration with Centro de Experimentación del Teatro Colón

About This Show

In collaboration with the Centro de Experimentación del Teatro Colón (CETC), Americas Society presents the U.S. premiere of the chamber opera Hércules en el Mato Grosso, which explores the early nineteenth-century travels of French photographer Hércule Florence through the Brazilian rainforest. A star-studded cast of singers is conducted by Americas Society’s own Music Director Sebastián Zubieta, who also led the sold-out world premiere run of this hypnotic work in Buenos Aires last fall.
