In the Lounge Gershwin Live: Sex, Death and Bedbugs Featuring Adam Ash

About This Show

Sex, Death and Bedbugs is about three important subjects. Sex is obviously the most important. Adam Ash confronts the subject head on, especially the organs with which we commit sex—& how that messes with love. Sex is in fact the only evidence we have for love, but love is a very fraught subject. Adam Ash tears the veil that blinds us to love off your face & replaces it with a contemplation of death. Yes, death. The death of bedbugs, & your death, too. Sooner or later, you will have to confront death, so why not start now?

Gershwin Live is an evolving 21st century salon, artists with fearless & distinctive voices are given free rein to present theater, dance, film, cabaret, ghost stories, music & uncategorizable hybrids. Curated by Michael Wiener & Neke Carson.

About the Artist

Adam Ash is a writer-performer who grew up in apartheid South Africa & was raised to be an elite fascist. When the apartheid regime banned his first play, he took off for New York, where he co-created the Absolut Vodka campaign, the longest-running print campaign in advertising history, starred in the PBS documentary Slammin’ (google Evert Eden to see his slam poet performances).
