in the lounge Die Again Romeo! Robert Diamond Coates & the Old World Rory Golden
About This Show
Die Again Romeo! is a satirical three-act period fantasy with hilarious contemporary references, inspired by Robert “Romeo” “Diamond” Coates, a 19th Century English Dandy and the world’s most celebrated bad actor. Constructed through a mosaic writing method with borrowed language from innumerable sources from historical research to contemporary verse. Heckled as a buffoon, pitied as a blackmailed lover, and decried as a confidence man in sparkly shoes, Diamond Coates crafted the definitive dramatic death scene several times in a row after calls for “encore!” from hecklers inspired his bejeweled, foppish Romeo to rise up and die again.
