in the lounge Defiant, Majestic, and Beautiful Brin Solomon

About This Show
A series of sharply drawn character studies in song that explore life under transmisogyny. Join Ruthie as zie embraces hir newfound craving for salt, Judith as she’s forced to confront the overlap between trans lesbians and Jewish anti-zionists, Selena as they revel in the liberatory potential of a gender-weird future, and a dozen other ladies, dykes, and enbies as they explore, stumble, soar, and change. By turns euphoric, bitter, bleak, and stubborn, Defiant, Majestic, and Beautiful imagines a world without the distortion of the cis gaze and demolishes the myth of a singular, monolithic transfeminine experience.
about the artist
Brin Solomon writes words and music in several genres, and is doing their best to queer all of them. Solomon majored in composition at Yale University and will graduate this spring with an MFA in musical theatre writing from NYU/Tisch. Their full-length musical Window Full of Moths has been hailed for its “extraordinary songs” that “add magic to otherwise ordinary lives”, and their latest one-act, Have You Tried Not Being A Monster, has been described as “agitprop for Julia Serrano”.
