About This Show
A short play series that brings writers and actors together. Writers participate to keep their minds active, while actors love having audience. With the help of resident director Peggy Chane, Rose and Carmine are proud to work with New York writers and welcome young fresh actors. Our writers Change every month and are all from NYC. We have had work from, Melba LaRose, Jeff Stolzer, Donald Olson, Jack Rushton, Jack Feldstein, and Tony Manzo just to name a few. Our writers join us from writing groups all over the city and submit through a submission process.
about the artist
Rose Desena is the original architect of Café Shorts and Plays and Pizza. Until she came to New York City two years ago, Rose lived in LA LA Land, where she was a critic for the Los Angeles Post and a producer for the Alliance of LA Playwrights. She produced several readings and successfully produced two Fringe shows in Los Angeles. In New York, she teamed up with Carmine Desena and Peggy Chane to create the monthly show that started as Café Shorts, and more recently as Plays and Pizza.
