NecroVisioN: Preview Desura Online Games

Under the competent cover of "1C", the studio Desura Online Games is actively promoting its new project - the shooter Necrovision. He was shown back at E3 2007 and subsequently opened his face at many other popular exhibitions. Thanks to this, journalists have enough information for both the earliest and hands-on previews.

The events of the game throw the protagonist into the abyss of the First World War. A simple soldier Simon Buckner went to the front in Europe in April 1917. There, his team is captured, and he becomes the only one who miraculously avoids being shot. Although it remains to be seen who is more fortunate.

Necrovision is a vigorous mixture of action and horror: in the ranks of the fascists there are by no means ordinary warriors, but vampires, zombies and other evil spirits. These brave men have more health, and they are endowed with magical abilities that are extremely incomprehensible to humans. In addition, the opponents of the Alliance have sorcerers behind their backs, who have repeatedly tried to summon hellish creatures to their aid. But, obviously, fanged pentagrams are drawn very badly. Not only did the created portal to hell not close on time, but also a good half of the fiends fled to our land. Fortunately, the minions of darkness are not interested in the protagonist for the time being, destroying the would-be summoners - for some time Simon will get used to it.

Acquaintance with an unknown force from the bowels of Mother Earth is very similar to the appearance of Lord Voldemort in Harry Potter. Ordinary shooting of German soldiers is interrupted by the appearance of a black mark in the sky. Then a fireball falls on the protagonist, and he finally realizes that demons are not at all for the existence of mankind. In the middle of the game, we will even make friends with the forced allies, go down to their underworld and take some demonic glove. Having absorbed a triple power (ghoul / servant of hell / human), the protégé will turn into a huge vampire, learn complex spells and set off to cleanse the Earth of various monsters.

In Necrovision will play around and experiment with methods of killing enemies. In addition to the standard arsenal, gamers will have at their disposal various types of hand-to-hand combat, an utterly sharpened bayonet (tearing everything around into small pieces) and a weapon that shoots enemies with fire. Interestingly, in 2007 we were sincerely promised a "peaceful" storyline. That is, opponents of violence could go through Necrovision , solving puzzles and studying artifacts (something similar was given to the people for testing in Postal 2 ). Fortunately, or unfortunately, Desura Online Games I left the puzzles, about here you can forget about calm everyday life. After all, the updated concept includes bosses. At the end of each level (or chapter), the hero will be forced to fight a super-opponent. Each such creature, be it a cthulhu-like soldier or a briskly jumping skeleton, has special moves and a tiny list of vulnerabilities. For example, the once deceased and resurrected boss will have to use magic to break off the "extra bones" and finish him off with some perverse technique. Another - severely burned with a flame and mortally wounded ... in the knee. We feel that we are waiting for a lot of interesting and protracted fights, embodied on the screen thanks to our own engine. The motor supports innovations from the DirectX 10 set and does not hesitate to correctly calculate the physics.

A lot of effort will be spent on multiplayer. Desura Online Games builds on the ideas of Painkiller and Quake , but implements them again in their own way. So, for example, classic deathmatch is conventionally divided into fantastic and ordinary. In the first - we will try on the skin of a demon / vampire, in the second - the uniform of an Alliance / fascist fighter.

Necrovision will appear before the players' court next winter. Time will tell if the former outsourcers from Desura Online Games were able to bring their own ideas to life and wrap them up in a beautiful wrapper.
