Hedda Gabler Stars in She Loves Me (featuring Thea) follows two women from Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler, the famous Hedda herself and her school “friend” Thea, as they attempt to mount a production of She Loves Me. Hedda wants to be remembered, but not as a bored, manipulative housewife. Thea is tired of playing second fiddle. Both women want to rebrand and they are using She Loves Me to do it. In a madcap vaudevillian romp, these two old friends, rivals, and co-stars explore their shared history and the ever-complicated waters of female friendship.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jojo Karlin is a cake-baking actress-artist-scholar. Credits include: Cabaret (Fräulein Kost/nat’l tour), TheatreworksUSA, Cherry Lane, Art Party, Musicals Tonight. She has been a prompter for Vanessa Redgrave, James Earl Jones, and Joely Richardson. Jojo is pursuing an English PhD at The CUNY Graduate Center.
Jennifer Lauren Brown is an actress and writer living the dream in NYC. She has performed in regional theatres across the country. Past credits include: Avenue Q (Kate Monster/Lucy), Company (Amy), [title of show] (Susan), Man of LaMancha (Antonia). She is working on her first novel.
