Virginia (Ginny) Louloudes has served as A.R.T./New York’s Executive Director since 1991. Since her arrival, the organization’s membership and its budget have grown from 150 to 350 theatres, and from $650,000 to $3.2 million. Under Ginny’s leadership, A.R.T./NY has developed a unique knowledge base on small and emerging companies. To assist them, they provide technical assistance, grant and loan programs, as well as two shared office and rehearsal spaces. With the loss of 50 theatres in the past decade, the organization has responded with its most ambitious project to date: the construction of the ART/NY Theaters, in partnership with the City. The theaters will house 2 small, flexible spaces and will be completed by fall of 2016.
