This hour-long program weaves together music, poetry, and a historical narrative of the lived experience of a woman resistance fighter in the forests of Poland during WWII. Through words and music of fear, loss, resilience, and hope, Who Will Remain gives artistic form to the emotional truths of lives interrupted through exile, displacement, and the devastating weight of being marked as “the other.”
Music by Leoš Janáček, Robert Schumann, Maurice Ravel, Moses Milner and Hanns Eisler, seamlessly integrated with readings from a diverse array of poets and writers, featuring Selma Meerbaum-Eisinger, Langston Hughes, Victor Hugo, and Robert Frost.
