about the artists

Lauren Beirne is a choreographer, director, artist, and educator based in Brooklyn, NY. She holds a BFA from Mason Gross at Rutgers, and an MFA from Tisch at NYU. She founded Lauren Beirne Dance Works in 2015. Since then, they have presented work and Master classes at ‘HATCH’, ‘Your Move’, John Jay College, Martha Graham, FDU, NYU, RVCC, ‘RAW Artists’, ‘West Fest: Top Floor’, Dixon Place’s ‘Under Exposed’ and ‘InQUAD”, Dumbo Dance Festival and DD’sF ‘Solo/Duo Festival’, Sacred Heart University, The Actor’s Fund Arts Center, ‘Six Degrees Dance’, The Rabbit Hole, IDF, & INDY Fringe. In 2018, LBDW self produced the series ‘6000 Bobby Pins Later…’  Ms. Beirne is on faculty at Raritan Valley and Brooklyn College. laurenbeirnedance.org

David Norsworthy is a Toronto-based dance artist who is “an exceptionally lucid performer” (Globe and Mail). His choreography has been presented by CanAsian KickStart (Toronto), Our Voices (Stockholm) and OnSite/InSight (Winston Salem). Choreographic residencies include Point Park University (Pittsburgh) and Hubbard Street Dance’s HSPro (Chicago). David has performed with Peggy Baker (Toronto), Dancenorth (Melbourne), Brian Brooks (New York), The Cunningham Trust (New York) and Skånes Dansteater (Malmö). A Juilliard graduate, David received the 2016 Ron Lenyk Award and was one of three finalists for the Toronto Arts Foundation’s 2018 Emerging Artist Award. Javier Padilla is a movement based artist originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico. His choreographic work has been shown at venues such as Judson Memorial Church, The Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Salvatore Capezio Theater, The Theater at Gibney 280 and the Inside/Out Theater at Jacob’s Pillow. His choreographic group, The Movement Playground, was established in 2014 while pursuing his BFA in Dance at Mason Gross School of the Arts.

Shawn Rawls/Emotions Physical Theatre is an internationally touring company.
