HOT Festival Mother’s Milk HOT 2025 Curated and hosted by Eleanore Pienta

About This Show

Mother’s Milk is a variety show that asks comedy, dance and music performers to try something they’ve never done before, to do something they’re scared of (and to possibly fail, but fail 100%). Eleanore Pienta hosts with wild performances between acts. This creates a night of energized discovery that the audience is a witness to. It’s a hell of a night with no shortage of fun.

Elizabeth Zephyrine McDonough (aka “Zeph”) is an award winning Director, Actress, Writer, and Comedian. Her comedic short films, which she writes, directs, and stars in, have garnered millions of views on platforms including The New Yorker, and been broadcast on French and Australian television. She has directed and written for TV shows including Full Frontal With Samantha Bee and The Daily Show, where she also performed as a featured player.

Sophie Becker is an artist and ventriloquist based in New York, creating performances that blend traditional ventriloquism with everyday objects. Becker’s work has been featured at venues including SculptureCenter, MoMA PS1, NADA Miami, Art Omi, Luxembourg + Co., Rockaway Film Festival, Chez Bushwick’s RECESS Programming, Pageant Space, Blade Study Gallery, and The Kraine Theater, among others. Maya Deshmukh is an actor and comedian in NYC. Hailing from the great state of New Jersey, she is very happy to no longer be bridge and tunnel.  Maya won first place in the NBC/UCB diversity showcase doing characters.  She can be seen performing as “Brown Rice” with her satirical fake K-pop girl group: AzN POP, as well as co-hosting a monthly “fashion-comedy” show called ‘Fashion Puhleeze’, where comedians break down trends very far from a red carpet.  She also appeared in the pilot for Tru-TV’s Paid Off, and performed as an actor on UCB’s Maude night.  Maya has been featured on Betches, Nick Mom, Funny or Die, and can be seen on season 2 of HBO’s High Maintenance. When she is not doing comedy, working, or catching up on Real Housewives (of all cities), she is probably getting yelled at. She also works part-time as a general dentist (not a joke).

They appeared in HBO’s “Los Spooky’s”, as well as in Julio Torres’ film, “Problemista”.  They most recently starred in Natasha Lyonne’s “Russian Doll”.  Their work has been written about in the NYT, Forbes, Art in America, SSENSE, and GQ.
