HOT Festival presents Mother’s Milk Featuring Hannah Mitchell, Irene Morales & Fareeha Khan
The variety show Mother’s Milk, curated and hosted by Eleanore Pienta, asks comedy, dance and music performers to try something they’ve never done before, to do something they’re scared of, to perhaps fail, but fail fabulously. Pienta asks the same of herself and performs between acts. This creates a night of energized discovery.
Past performers include Julio Torres, Larry Owens, Sunita Mani, Peter Smith, MOLLY & NOLA, Sasheer Zamata, Jes Tom, Ani Taj, Alex Albrecht, nicHi douglas and many more.
Curated & hosted by Eleanore Pienta
Featuring:
Fareeha Khan is a comedian and artist based in Brooklyn, NY. Her one-woman show, “I Actually Don’t Feel That Good,” exploring the existential crisis of being a brown girl alive right now, dazzled sold out crowds across the city. She might bring it back if you ask nicely. You can see her doing her own unique flavor of stand up comedy on Comedy Central, MTV, and around town. She self-publishes zines and comics on capitalism, which you can find on her website.
Irene Morales is a New York City–based comedian, writer, and actor who performs regularly at New York Comedy Club. She co-created, wrote, and starred in the series We Don’t Know with comedian Henry Foley of Are You Garbage. She played the funny friend in an indie-feature film called “Asking For It” which is streaming on Amazon Prime and Peacock.
Hannah Mitchell is an actor, theater-maker, and educator whose process is guided by the improvisational arts, especially clown and it’s sisters bouffon, commedia & being a human with a body. She loves to make music with her body and voice, loves hamming it up, is curious about the connection between relaxation and play, and is compelled by the ridiculous contained and unleashed. She devises new experimental works of theater, performs live comedy bits, and regularly collaborates with various ensembles, including her clown company, WüfPak, and the experimental theater collective, CHILD. Hannah has performed at many venues around NYC including The Public, The Brick, The Park Ave Armory, The Collapsable Hole, Lincoln Center, LifeWorld, The New Ohio, Theater Mitu, HERE Arts, Target Margin, and The Brooklyn Comedy Collective, among others.
Eleanore Pienta is an award-winning screen & stage actor, comedian, dancer and filmmaker. Weaving in & out of the independent film circuit, Pienta has carved out a niche for herself by portraying uncompromising & complex characters. She can next be seen in Aaron Schimberg’s A Different Man. Eleanore is one third of the famed comedy dance trio Cocoon Central Dance Team. Pienta wrote, directed & starred in Ada, a short film about a competitive walker and just finished her new short film, Master Of The House.
