“Liza (not) at the Palace” is a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience in which Victoria Libertore channels the iconic energy of Liza Minnelli. Libertore brings in her two-decade history as an intuitive medium to also channel messages from ‘the great beyond’ for the audience. This is a cabaret-meets-healing circle that will leave you titillated, transfixed and transformed. Written and performed by NYC and Los Angeles-based actor, improv artist, writer and producer, Victoria Libertore. Co-created with and directed by Rebecca Feldman, the creator of the Tony Award-winning musical comedy “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”
Victoria Libertore‘s work includes nine theatrical solo shows, performance art, variety, burlesque and improv. She has performed her work throughout NYC from Coney Island’s boardwalk to Off-Broadway, including venues such as Barrow Street Theater, Carolines on Broadway, Joe’s Pub, Joyce Soho, PS122 as well as in Boston, Chicago, Montreal, Philadelphia, Provincetown, Toronto and Washington D.C. Her solo work includes “My Journey of Decay” about her dental work and lineage, and ”GIRL MEAT” inspired by the world’s most infamous female serial killer. For over 20 years, she produced and emceed variety shows as Liza. She is passionate about encouraging other artists to create their own work and has curated dozens of artists with a focus on LGBTQ+ and BIPOC artists. In addition to facilitating her own performance and writing workshops, she has taught at Otterbein University and Hastings College. Victoria was a Humana Festival Finalist, has received a Young Alumni Award for Research and Creative Achievement from Otterbein University, and is a recipient of the Doric Wilson Independent Playwright Award given by the NYC Innovative Theatre Awards. Victoria has a BFA in theater from Otterbein University and has studied various approaches to acting including Grotowski, Chekov, Viewpoints, long-form improvisation and Balinese maskVictoria has been an intuitive practitioner for 21 years, and also mentors people to support them in connecting with their own intuition. Rebecca Feldman is a director and writer who created the Tony Award-Winning Broadway show, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” She directed its World Premiere at Barrington Stage. Rebecca is a graduate of the Lincoln Center Director’s Lab as well as the AFI Directing Workshop for Women. She has spent 30 years bopping around from theatre to film to TV – including writing on the Amazon show, “Transparent.” Rebecca and Victoria met at an artist retreat around 25 years ago where they both showed up with the same deck of Tarot cards. They went on to create a show together called V-Ville in some blackbox theatre in downtown NYC about 25 years ago. This is their first collaboration since then, and nothing has ever felt more right
