INTERSTATE
Spurred into action by a suicide attempt, Red packs her adult children into her rusty convertible and heads across the country for a nostalgic trip to the Grand Canyon (something she regrets not doing when they were young). Between visits to ex-boyfriends, stops at local attractions and family guessing games, accusations are made, secrets are revealed and seeds of hope are planted. A play about what it means to be a family, a woman, and an American, INTERSTATE is a funny, dark, and compassionate look at a family trying to figure out how to hold onto one another while setting themselves free.
