Fast Forward

Fast Forward is a dance series curated by Sangeeta Yesley that provides opportunities for choreographers working in all dance forms to workshop longer, more developed pieces that run 25 – 35 minutes. The series will feature 2 choreographers or dance companies each evening on a shared bill. Each evening will be curated around a theme.

Presenting: Reassembled

Reassembled is a suite of two works by Chris Ferris & Dancers. Just InSight pulls both performers and audience members into a kinetic experience of focus and observation. Dancers connect and avoid each other, while painting molecular bodies in a chemical reaction. The Speed of Stopping is about a continuum that is altered abruptly, softly, or is unstoppable. In a world where people are falling, propelling themselves, or pounding the floor and air; these options bring about different choices for being strong. We explore how we live in this world of extreme differences but appreciate one another or walk away.

Fragmentation is a journey of isolation, pain, abuse, and self-realization. Coming to terms with the reality of your environment and grieving what you are becoming. Starting the work to do all you can to break the cycle. Learning from the grief to not become a product of your environment and break the cycle for yourself.
