About The show

Crushing is a collection of nine original monologues, written and performed by 20- and 30-something artists from all over the country. The show examines all sides of messy romantic love from the first-person perspective. For as universal a phenomenon as romantic love is, we seem to have shockingly few vulnerable stories that make us feel less alone in it all. We aim to add nuance to the streamlined romcoms, glossy social media posts, and tight-lipped conversations that don’t leave space for many folks’ lived experiences.

Featuring original work by Marcus Brown, Mia Diawara, Matthew Fay, Omri Hazan, Ashley Hobbs, Peter Litzow, Claudia Mallea, Natachi Onwuamaegbu, and Dylan Zwickel. Crushing is co-directed by Megan Calfas and Carly Steyer, and produced by Megan Calfas, Carly Steyer, and Natachi Onwuamaegbu.
