Simulators of various professions give us the opportunity in a playful way to try what it is like to be a cook, a driver or, for example, a car mechanic. We will talk about the last profession in this review: we took several games united by the same theme from a popular online games provider Friv2Online and tried to understand whether they provide an authentic experience in repairing equipment or do not deserve attention. Well, let's go!

And we will start with the game Yacht Mechanic Simulator, which, obviously, offers to repair old yachts. The developers promise the opportunity to join the luxury, lure with the mechanics of repair , restoration and testing of ships, show beautiful screenshots with beautiful modern boats.

Sounds good, but, as is often the case, beautiful promises do not guarantee us a good game. In the case of Yacht Mechanic Simulator, we got a game of very average quality.

To begin with, the protagonist has no legs, arms, torso, and nothing at all. This is literally a flying camera that moves freely in any direction, killing any hint of realism. Even when going out to sea on a yacht, when the camera takes a third-person view , we see a vessel without a driver.

The imitation of the repair is very superficial. In most cases, you have to change parts and wash the deck. Operations, such as unscrewing nuts, are made in the form of mini-games that have a place in free mobile titles. There is no character upgrade , no tool upgrade, no motivation to move on after five or six “repairs”. But there are bugs, an unintuitive interface, crooked fonts and long downloads.

Partially, the situation could be corrected by the mechanics of driving a yacht - after all, each of them can be tested "in the field" before fulfilling an order. However, failure here too - the controls are inconvenient, the boats are clumsy, and the collision leads to the failure of the task and the loss of money. The only thing that can be praised for Yacht Mechanic Simulator is the detailed and beautiful "garage" in which the yachts are displayed. You can admire them in your spare time.

Car Detailing Simulator is much nicer than the previous game. This simulator is dedicated not so much to repair as to restoration of cars: dirty - to wash, scratched - to polish, rusty - to paint. It’s easy and somehow peaceful: here you can stick to your watch while fulfilling orders.

The game is good because it gives you the opportunity to immediately evaluate the results of your work. A dirty body before our eyes takes on its original appearance, dusty windows become transparent, and a “tired” interior will sparkle with fresh upholstery. For the sake of this, I want to take care of the car as carefully as possible, leaving no dirt and a square millimeter of space.

There are many tools available in Car Detailing Simulator, and the project details how to use them. You don't have to mess around with different types of rags and brushes, and even in the later stages of the game, when the number of tasks increases, this will not become a problem.

Restored cars can be photographed using various filters and effects, and the photo can be hung in a frame above the desktop .

And even if the gameplay soon becomes routine, tasks begin to repeat, and there is no mechanics for pumping character skills in any form, I don’t want to scold Car Detailing Simulator; the game is meditative and lamp, go into it after work to complete a couple of orders - that's it.

Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 is perhaps the most detailed, content-rich and gameplay-engaging mechanic simulator in our collection of mini-reviews. And it fits the theme more than anyone else - it's really a game about how to fix cars.

The reliability of the project, however, does not always look like its advantage. To play Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 effectively, it is highly desirable to understand cars. Otherwise, the third or fourth task will turn into a lot of questions for you.

The game is in no hurry to explain where, for example, the intake manifold or intercooler is located, so a gamer who is poorly familiar with the structure of machines will face an impossible task. And clients can still avoid specifics in the wording. “The car shakes while driving” - you are a mechanic here, come on, figure it out yourself.

Of course, the game has tools for auto diagnostics, various machines for setting up and balancing units, an extensive store with a bunch of spare parts. If necessary, you can check the goals of the repair, track the condition of the car, get close to any of its components, even disassemble to the ground. Digging into the car is interesting, especially when there is no risk of dropping a wrench on your foot or getting dirty from head to toe in engine oil.

In addition, Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 gives you the opportunity to expand the garage, add new boxes, open a car wash and paint shop, even build a stand to test the aerodynamics of cars.

And that's not all: you can dig through junkyards and abandoned sheds, where you can find orphan parts, restore and use during repairs or sell. There you can also find old cars that you can take away, wash, derust, repair and sell. The game has an auction, a car dealership, test and racing tracks, even a photo studio where you can take a beautiful picture of your “swallow”.

In general, speaking of Car Mechanic Simulator 2021, this is one of the best simulators in general, and certainly the best car mechanic simulator, despite the rather high entry threshold, bugs and overloaded interface.

Don't trust the "very positive" rating for Tank Mechanic Simulator on Steam . The original idea is broken into a terrible implementation, and the desire of developers to tie as many gameplay mechanics into the game as possible is not good for it, but to the detriment.

Take, for example, the methodology for searching for rusty, long-sank in the swamps, which were once a battlefield, tanks . You will have an "exciting" trip in a jeep, an "interesting" fuss with a metal detector and an "exciting" work with a shovel, as a result of which you will get to a combat vehicle. In quotation marks because there is nothing more or less interesting in this part of the game. Especially if you unknowingly spend all the money on calling an excavator to false targets and you have to dig a huge tank with a shovel.

With the repair of units from the Second World War, things are little better. Here you can disassemble the tank to the ground and reassemble it, restore and paint it, and even test it at the training ground as part of a crooked shooter.

There are a lot of tools, details too, the insides of combat vehicles are implemented with attention to detail. It’s beautiful, however, as in the case of Car Mechanic Simulator 2021, you need to understand at least a little about automotive technology in order to understand which part to connect to which.

At the same time, the repair process quickly becomes routine, there are a lot of bugs, and optimization is lame, as well as balance. Tank Mechanic Simulator can be recommended to fans of tanks and fans of meditation games. The rest is better to pass.
