The evening will feature:

Paul Taylor 2 Dance Company

Paul Taylor 2 Dance Company will perform “Party Mix” , a seminal Paul Taylor work from 1963 which was recently reconstructed through a residency with Yale Dance Theatre.  This showcase offers the unique opportunity to see a rare, genre-defining dance of Paul Taylor, alongside emerging local dance companies, in the intimate theatre at Dixon Place.

Guest Dance Companies:

Monteleone Dance will perform “Neur0-” (Compressed Version)
“Neur0-” is a multimedia retro videogame performance exploring the meta nature of thinking about thinking and how we create our reality.

Neville Dance Theatre will perform ‘53 Movements (work-in-progress excerpt)’
Neville Dance Theatre takes on composer Terry Riley’s musical masterpiece ‘In C’. Consisting of 53 short musical phrases played with improvisational liberties, the company performs 53 corresponding movement phrases with the dancers following the musicians via both set choreography and improvisational choices, resulting in a 45-minute explosion of music and movement that is unique with each and every performance.

Periapsis Music and Dance will perform ‘Encaged’
Encaged is a short character study that examines the nature and effects of internal barriers. As with most of our work, it is a collaborative creation between choreographer and composer, who in this case are also dancer and musician, respectively. This performance at Dixon Place will be its world premiere.
Choreography by  Erin Dillon and original music played by Jonathan Howard Katz
