In the Lounge Gershwin Live: The Death of Johnny Stompanato Angelica Page / Sacred Monsters

About This Show
Angelica Page stars as ‘‘sweater girl siren’’’ movie star Lana Turner in her new self penned one woman show The Death of Johnny Stompanato, which is based on the poem of the same name written for Page by the late Rene Ricard. This evening directed by Vera Beren is the first public exploration of the gathered materials with live music accompaniment by Mark Ettinger. Glamorous as it is haunting, The Death of Johnny Stompanato transports us to Hollywood 1958 and what many called Lana’s infamous greatest performance: denying the murder of her gangster boyfriend who died on the shag white carpet of her Beverly Hills bedroom.
Gershwin Live is an evolving 21st century salon, artists with fearless & distinctive voices are given free rein to present theater, dance, film, cabaret, ghost stories, music & uncategorizable hybrids. Curated by Michael Wiener & Neke Carson.
