In the lounge Zines for Girls with Girlfriends Levi Gray
About This Show
Zoe is a drummer, a black belt, and a recent graduate. She has a girlfriend, she doesn’t have a job, and she’s afloat in a sea of anxiety and homophobic misogyny—and that’s about all she knows for sure. At least until she receives a mandate from her punk goddess, Alison Mosshart. If Zoe can figure out how to make herself seen and heard, it just might change her life. Join her—literally—as she writes herself into being, one zine segment and punk song at a time.
About the Artist
Levi Gray likes making noise in all endeavors. Zines for Girls with Girlfriends is a shortened and sadly drum-set-less version of her senior thesis at Yale University, inspired by research into the riot grrrl movement and her own life. Like all good theater students, she has an impressive résumé of internships and productions, from Philadelphia’s Wilma Theater to the Delaware Shakespeare Company to Rocky Horror. None of these have helped her get a job. She did, however, spend her post-grad summer drumming for a punk band—so things aren’t so bad.
