About the Artists

mishiDance- Mishi Castroverde began choreographing for Orchesis Dance Group at Columbia University and founded mishiDance upon graduating in 2010. The company’s mission is to engage and inspire audiences by bringing music to life through intricate, dynamic movement.  Since its inception, mishiDance has performed at reputable venues throughout New York City, including Ailey Citigroup Theater, Green Space, Symphony Space, Chen Dance Center, Triskelion Arts, and Dixon Place. Mishi has been recognized for her choreography by Pointe Magazine, The Young Choreographer’s Festival, Chen Dance Center’s newsteps Residency Program, and the Palm Desert International Choreography Competition.

Sarah Friedland is a choreographer and filmmaker who works at the intersection of moving images and moving bodies. She received her BA in Modern Culture in Media from Brown University, studying the moving body on film. Her choreography has been performed at WestFest Dance at Martha Graham Studio, Brooklyn Arts Exchange, Gibney Dance, Waxworks at Triskelion Arts, Greenspace Studio and The Pulse. Her films have screened in the Mostra Internacional de Videodanca, Dance New Amsterdam, New Orleans Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, Anthology Film Archives and Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
