About the Artists

James Gardella graduated from Wesleyan University with a BA in Dance in 2012. That fall, he performed in Ximena Garnica’s residency as a part of Movement Research in Residence at the New Museum. James’ choreography & visual art have been presented by Dixon Place, CAVE, City Bird Gallery, Con Artist Collective, Gallery Sensei, the CURRENT SESSIONS, Triskelion Arts & WOW! Café Theatre in New York City. James also performs as drag persona Violet Elixir at various locations in the city & is a certified Dharma Yoga instructor.

Originally from France, Caroline Brethenoux started dancing when she was 5 years old. She has danced since then wherever her career in advertising has taken her, including Paris, Hong Kong & Madrid. In NYC, she collaborated with Eryc Taylor Dance Company, Mare Nostrum Elements Dance Theatre Company, BalaSole Dance Company & with independent choreographers as a freelance dancer & choreographer. Her work has been shown at Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theatre, LPAC, Green Space Bloom Festival, The Current Sessions Volume V Issue II & the Dance Gallery Festival. She is a certified Gyrokinesis ® teacher & a Gyrotonic ® teacher.

Rosie DeAngelo received her BFA from the University of South Florida. In 2012, Rosie’s work was commissioned for the Youth American Grand Prix in NYC. She also presented her choreography at Micadanses in Paris, France while studying abroad. Since moving to New York City, Rosie has performed with KEIGWIN + COMPANY & Dante Brown|Warehouse Dance, among others. Her choreography has been showcased at Gibney Dance, 100 Grand, Livestream Public and Steve & Maris Sgouros Theatre. Rosie also teaches yoga in Manhattan, Brooklyn & Astoria.

Suku Dance Lab is a New York based contemporary dance company which primarily features works choreographed by Talia Moreta & Belinda Adam. They are interested in creating accessible, relatable work rooted in dance, exploring various concepts including culture, humor &  theatre. Their work aims to create juxtaposition between flaws in the daily human experience & the serious nature of dance as an art form. Their works have been featured in The Creator’s Collective showcase & The Intimate Beauty Series in WMAAC.
