About the Artists

Sofía Forero Correa was born and raised in Cali, Colombia. Her interest in creative movement came from her parents, who worked in advertising, and raised her in a very creative environment. They always encouraged her to explore and have a wild imagination. She started dancing at the age of nine after discovering that movement connected her with her true self and brought her to a state of absolute peace and harmony. She studied at Joffrey Ballet School and is a current student at the Ailey School. She has performed pieces by Merce Cunningham, Paul Taylor, Angelica Stiskin, Rena Butler, and Larisa Calero among others.

She has presented her choreographic work in multiple venues, including, 14th Street Y Theater the Davenport Theater, and at the NYC Dance and Music Festival. With her work, she aims to transport the audience to a timeless place where anything can happen, while having a harmonious connection between breath, music and movement, and the space.

Evelyn Joy Hoelscher founded Spaces of Fontana in 2014, performing for over 10 choreographers, including Jinah Parker, Smashworks, Isadora Duncan, Rod Rodgers, Dina Denis & Monica Hogan, and joined Actor’s Equity as Dance Captain of Off-Broadway’s SHE a Choreoplay. She has performed or presented choreography in theaters such as Alvin Ailey Citi Theater, Mark Morris, HERE Theater, Dixon Place, New York Live Arts, Queens Theater, Gelsey Kirkland, Judson and Peridance Capezio Center. In 2016 Her duet, Connected Roots, was featured on a MNN Television Series. Evelyn taught modern dance at Ballet Tech and completed a choreographic residency at Long Island Performing Arts School. Her piece, Together Apart, was chosen as a finalist for Ballet Inc’s Outstanding Choreography Award.

Luísa Righeto graduated by the Martha Graham School (NYC) in 2016. She holds a Teaching License and a Bachelor’s degree in Dance, from University Anhembi Morumbi (2012, Brasil). She danced for Caleidos Dance Co., Cia Danças Claudia de Souza, and Ícaro Dance Co., in Brazil. In New York, she danced with Coyote Dancer Company and Alison Cook Beatty Dance. Luisa created “Tempo” – solo piece; “Transit” – a group piece (2016), and “Ziriguidum” (2018) by Ziriguidum Dance Project.

Marcela Duarte is a dancer and an aerialist. She studied aerial arts at the Florida Circus School and dance at Martha Graham School. Marcela choreographed and performed music videos, and also “Devaneio” – awarded to the Go! Emerging Artists Commissioning Program. She performed for Anchieta Music & Dance Company, Rudder Dance Company; for the off-Broadway show Fuerza Bruta; and Incanto Productions. She lead workshops in Bangkok, Thailand; and in Jamaica.
Danielle Kipnis founded Nazmo Dance Collective as a a collaborative group of dancers that uses movement inspired by everyday surroundings to encourage new perspectives on personal and political relationships. Danielle has presented and performed work at Lincoln Center, with the New World Symphony, for Art Basel Miami, Gibney Dance Center, Center for Performance Research, and Triskelion Arts. Danielle’s dance films have been presented at several film festivals including, Dance on Camera and Cucalorus.
