About the Choreographers

Gabriella Di Giuseppe & Bridget James Ling are NYC based dancers. Graduated with their Bachelors in Dance from the University of Maryland, College Park. Gabriella and Bridget both have experience as Dance Educators in New York City. They’ve performed in works at the John F. Kennedy Center, Fertile Ground, Long Island City, NY, and The Craft, Brooklyn, NY, Smush Gallery, Jersey City, NJ. Bridget is the Operations Manager at Mark DeGarmo Dance, a freelance performer, and studio coordinator at 305 Fitness. Gabriella teaches dance full-time and continues to travel and set work in the DMV area, and is also a personal trainer. 

As the Artistic Director of Funsch Dance, Christy Funsch has created over eleven full-length works since 2002. Originally based in SF, Christy relocated the company to NYC last year. She has been awarded residencies at Djerassi, U Cross, and Yaddo, and in 2013 was a member of CHIME Across Borders with mentor Tere O’Connor. In 2014, she was named one of “25 to Watch” by Dance Magazine. In 2015, she became the first woman to be granted permission to perform Daniel Nagrin’s iconic 1965 work, Path. She has just returned from Lisbon where she was a Fulbright Scholar. 

Paul Giarrartano was born and raised in Long Island NY. He attended SUNY Purchase where he graduated with his BFA in dance. Upon graduation Paul danced with Spectrum Dance Theater + Donald Byrd for 2 seasons as a company artist and as a guest artist for a 3rd season. Paul is currently a freelance artist based in New York and has presented work at Bridge for Dance, The Works Studio, and SMUSH Gallery. 

Jade Salzano is a young choreographer from Hoboken NJ, best known for her all female contemporary dance company 78 Moves. Salzano graduated with her BFA in Dance from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts in 2019. Her work is inspired by her experiences as a female millennial in America as well as various feminist topics. Her work has been presented throughout New York City and New Jersey. Salzano’s award winning dance films have also been presented across the United States.

Dixon Place dance programs are made possible, in part, with private funds from the Harkness Foundation for Dance, The Jerome Robbins Foundation, The Mertz Gilmore Foundation, and public funds from the NY State Council on the Arts with the support of Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the NY State Legislature.
