Tin Pan Alley 2 is a live mini-concert showcasing new original musical theatre works.

About The Artists

Gabriella Rose Balsam is a playwright, bookwriter, and lyricist, with additional experience in writing fiction and ad copy. In the theater, she has worked with WP Theater, Eisenberg/Beans Casting,  Theatre Exile, and the Academy of Vocal Arts.  Her copywriting has also appeared on behalf of the Fox School of Business-Graduate Admissions (Temple University).  She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising-Copywriting Concentration with a Certificate (Minor) in Writing from Temple University. She will receive a Masters in Fine Arts from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in Musical Theatre Writing (Wordsperson) in 2020. Additionally, she has studied at PlayPenn, is currently part of StateraArts New York’s second mentorship class, and is a proud member of the Dramatists’ Guild. A persistent, ambitious, and driven self-starter, she’s interested in storytelling, through emotionally and mentally charged writing. JOSH BEN-AMI is a musical theater/pop composer living in Manhattan. Josh composed the score for “Maya’s Mother,” a short-form musical, with book and lyrics by James Salem. He and James are currently writing “#Masc4Masc: A Totally Masculine Musical”, a full-length musical comedy. Josh is also writing music and lyrics for “Unpopular Opinions,” an original song cycle. He has contributed music to the webseries “Is This Art Now? A Musical in the Time of Corona.” His work has been performed at Dixon Place and The Duplex. He is a graduate of the Gallatin school at New York University, and received an MFA from the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program at Tisch School of the Arts in 2020. Proud member of ASCAP and The Dramatists Guild. 

Matthew V. Stolfi is a Composer/Lyricist, Bookwriter, Accompanist, and Music Director from Cos Cob, CT. He currently resides in New York City where he recently obtained an MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts (‘20). He received his BA in Music from Boston College (‘16), focusing on composition. His full length works include “Lady In Red” (Book, Music, Lyrics), a murder-mystery about kid detectives from literature, and “Alli’s Inferno” (Book, Lyrics), a musical adaptation of Dante’s “Inferno” that takes place on the internet. He teaches piano and theatre in New York and in Connecticut.

DURRA LEUNG is an award-winning composer-lyricist and playwright born and raised in China, and now calls NYC home. He has recently joined the writing team of “Thoroughly Modern Millie” (2002 Tony Awards Best Musical) for the New York City Center Encores! production. Durra has presented his works at Feinstein’s/54 Below, Joe’s Pub, The Duplex, The Laurie Beechman Theatre, Wild Project, The PIT, West End Lounge, Dixon Place, and etc. One of his recent film-scoring works “Your Smile” (dir. Sam Rosenblatt is an Asian-American theatre artist based in New York, where she just received her MFA at NYU Tisch in the Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program as a lyricist. Sam also received her BS in Educational Theatre from NYU Steinhardt in May of 2018. She has worked professionally and educationally as a librettist, director, choreographer, stage manager, and performer. Sam also enjoys making sock puppets.
