Thee Quest for Black Joy is an experimentation in playwriting that tells the story of the roses that grow from the concrete. A mystical allegory of Black Womanhood, this is a staged reading that mixes visual & performance styles of art to tell the tale of navigating the path of death and grief to resurrection of the self.

 Joy Sanchez is Bronx based artist who creates art narratives that honor Black intersectional identities.
