Dixon Place Presents The Village, A Disco Daydream by Nora Burns

Set in 1979 New York City, The Village, A Disco Daydream bounces around and breaks 4th walls, 5th dimensions and every theater rule in the book. As a crazy collage of characters come by to drink, drug, flirt, dream and dish about love, death, and taxis, and of course break out into divine disco dance numbers, the play centers around Trade (a hustler living in Old George’s apartment) who brings home his latest trick, Steve (an earnest NYU student).
The Village is a fabulous funny fete filled with high jinx, low kinks, softcore porn and rock hard abs. For anyone who needs a hand as they crawl out of their pandemic ptsd, The Village offers a life-affirming lift, full of life, love, friendship, fantasy, fashion and fun! It’s a valentine to youth, age, spirit, NYC, and Donna Summer.
This Dixon Place production is made possible with support from Gerald J. & Dorothy R. Friedman Foundation, Mellon Foundation, NY State Council on the Arts with support from Gov Kathy Hochul & the NY State Legislature, and donors like you!
