The Essential Ella Maythorne Written by Anna Baryshnikov; Co-directed by Seonjae Kim & Brandon Powers

About This Show

Meet Ella Maythorne, average spirited freshman, whose Halloween at a frat party goes terribly wrong. When the school & the police refuse to fight for her, Ella decides to take matters into her own iPhone, launching a social media campaign against her rapist. She is now the poster child of a movement, an activist for the Instagram era & a celebrity, but she doesn’t know where to go from there. Featuring old-school Britney Spears tunes which track the heroine’s triumph & turmoil, The Essential Ella Maythorne explores how far a young woman has to go to be heard.
