THE SHALLOW B-RATE SPECTACLE presents Tea Time with Shelton Whimsy. Join us for a fanciful tea party in which Shelton Whimsy tells a story of love, loss and poetry set against a backdrop of his time in Florence, Italy in the summer of 2019. Who knows, perhaps several people will drop by to say hi to Shelton while he tells his tale. Featuring performances from Kyra Sims, Islaya and Dean.
About the Artist
THE SHALLOW B-RATE SPECTACLE is a performance collective hosted by Shelton Whimsy and produced by himself, Bryen, Zoe and Adam. Their shows blend emerging and established artists across multiple artistic disciplines to create one-of-a-kind performance nights that combine astronomy lectures with burlesque, poetry with puppets.
Before the apocalypse Shelton Lindsay was a writer, performer, designer and clown. A member of the New York Neo-Futurists, Fou Fou Ha, and The House of Yes, his work blended the real with glittery pageantry and performance.
Since quarantine began, he’s become a video artist, producing, directing and editing everything from mockumentaries to hip hop videos (his first rap received a glowing review from the NY Times!) and turning his performance art burlesque show into a virtual event. (You may have seen him in Seasons 1 & 2 of HBO’s High Maintenance, Showtime’s Accommodations, and Netflix’s Tales of the City!)
