In the lounge Stake of Love Meagan Kimberly Smith and Ryan Pater

About This Show

The Stake of Love is a deep dig into love and it’s rough edges. Blending choreography, classical play structure, and gibberish, The Stake of Love is the clown’s attempt at a polished articulation of love in a time of technology and impatience. Underneath the red nose the actor becomes a porous creature seeking acceptance, understanding, and community. Through the course of the piece our clowns will grow closer through their distance and differences questioning love’s ability to withstand change. Using existing circumstances of love from classic plays, contact improvisation, and a clearly developed gibberish vocabulary our two clowns will fight to perform the show they made whilst juggling their fluctuating feelings for one another.
