Ocean meets shore, cold meets hot, character meets opposition in Hanna Q’s 5 pieces. High-Energy dance evokes imagery and explores narrative forms. This piece uses the elements to express  emotion.

In “Behind the language” 2 women seek connection and acceptance amidst their cultural and linguistic differences, criticisms and expectations from the world.

About Artists

Johanna LjungQvist-Brinson started dancing at the age of 3 in Boras , Sweden  . She graduated from DOCH , The University of Dance and Circus , Stockholm , Sweden ( BFA in  Dance and Dance Pedagogy.) Since then Johanna has been teaching,performing and choreographing through Europe and US. She taught in Paris at Academie International De La Dans , NYC at Phil Blacks. In 2008 Johanna founded her school , Delaware Dancers and in May 2013 she started Hanna Q Dance Company. In February they performed in The Soaking WET Series,curated by David Parker (The Bang Group -The West end Theater, NYC)

Rebecca Lloyd-Jones, is a movement based interdisciplinary artist living in NY. Her work explores the expression of displacement, subconscious, memories, history, identity, complexity and contradiction through human body. Her work has been shown at Dixon Place, La Mama Experimental Theater, Dance New Amsterdam, Movement Research at Judson Church, Performance Mix Festival, Philadelphia Live Arts Festival, Studio 34, Ulah’s House, Green Space Studio, Temple University, Smith College, and many others. She also has produced few dances on camera. Currently she is investigating in interdisciplinary collaboration with various artists in performance, music, and film.

Julia Cavagna is from Argentina. She’s a graduate of theConservatory of Dramatic Arts of the City of Buenos Aires. She specialized in Jaques Lecoq´s Technique under the direction of Daniel Casablanca and Marcelo Savignone. Cavagna also studied with the Movement Theater Studio NYC,  Mimi Lieber, Miguel Gutiérrez. Her credits include “La verdadera historia de Federico Rasponi”, “Babilonia”, “Ayer maravilla fui y ahora ni sombra soy” “L a Clonfusión”, “Fix Agency” ,”Oedipus Gol” and ” Hunter-Gatherer”, “Ebola-Ferguson”, “Capricho” and “Truth or Dare”. She started working with Rebecca Lloyd-Jones in fall 2014.
