“RATED BLACK” Kareem M. Lucas

About This Show

‘RATED BLACK’ is a solo show that weaves together original poetry and music to navigate the thoughts, feelings, and issues of a young black man from Brooklyn living in ‘post-racial America,’ while unarmed black men and women are still being murdered by the police at a heartbreaking pace, as the whole country consumes these daily digital lynchings. This piece removes the mask of the perceived ‘super predator,’ and shares the vulnerability of a young black man at risk of becoming the next trending hashtag.
