Hearty Fluff
Created by Shayna Strype & Dane Manary
Music by Jordan Parker
Strype and Manary created this video for the L.A. Puppetry Guild’s 48 Hour Film Festival earlier this month. Participants were asked to create a puppet film with the theme of “hope”. As a street photographer staying indoors, Dane started cutting up some of his old photographs and animating photo collages. They combined his process with Shayna’s background in live puppetry and DIY filmmaking to create the piece.

Shayna Strype is a Brooklyn based theater artist and filmmaker. Her original puppetry has been presented at Bushwick Starr, Dixon Place, The Tank, and The Center at West Park. Her short film, Peer, has been screened at festivals in Berlin, Italy, Chicago and L.A. Shayna’s DP commissioned show, MINE, will premiere this fall. @woosieparty
