Here are some guidelines at a glance:

STANDARD RULES:
Absolutely no photography or video recording without permission.
Be friendly and respectful.
Please turn off your cell phones when in workshop sessions.

ADDITIONAL INFO:
Regular session fee: $10 ONLINE ADVANCE BOOKING. $15 AT THE DOOR – CASH ONLY PLEASE.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the event, to set up.

* Overall session time is 2 hours.
* We will have 3 segments of 30 minutes drawing sessions of dancers doing their dance routines or rehearsing or improvising or exploring movements.
* We will have 5 minutes break in between the segments.
* First two segments with solo dancers will consist of 3,5,7 minutes poses and the last segment with multiple dancers will have a 10 min pose.

Everyone cleans up.

BRING ALL YOUR OWN MATERIALS, drawing boards, portable easels, or draw on pads on your laps, etc. There is a sink available in the bathroom for rinsing your brushes. (NO SPRAYS PLEASE).
Be mindful of your belongings (wallet, phone, etc). The organizers of this meet up or the venue are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

We have music stands, if you want to use them as your drawing board stand.

Each artist keeps his/her own drawings/paintings. The dancers and/or the organizers may request the artists for a photo of the art work. It will be in the artists’ discretion whether they want to share their art or not.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
This workshop is for ADULTS only.

I DON’T KNOW HOW TO DRAW; IS THERE ANY INSTRUCTION OR WILL THERE BE AN INSTRUCTOR?
No, there won’t be any instruction or any instructor. We expect you to have prior knowledge of drawing and painting to try this challenging workshop.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Delancey and Essex Municipal Parking Garage on 105-113 Essex Street & 112-120 Ludlow Street, New York, NY 10002, is very affordable. $8 for the first hour, $3 per hour for additional hours, 24/7. But, is about 5 few blocks from Dixon Place, about 7 min walk.

What can/can’t I bring to the event?

about the organizer

Sangeeta is an independent producer of arts and entertainment events with a background in dance.  She loves producing hybrid events/ shows exploring relationships between dance and other art forms. She is the Founder/Director of Creative Performances.  Her projects include – StylePointe Fashion Show, NYC Drawing the Dance Workshop and Dixon Connect – Networking for everyone creative. She is a dance curator in Dixon Place, NYC, curating Fast Forward (8 shows a year) and 8 in Show (4 shows a year) Dance Series and also 30-30-30, a End of Year Dance Benefit. Sangeeta strives to create platform for emerging artists in NYC helping them to progress in their professional career.
