Naked Roots Conducive Record Release Sacred521 Natalia Steinbach & Valerie Kuehne

About This Show

Sacred 521 is a Performance Opera featuring the most recent works of Natalia Steinbach and Valerie Kuehne. The opera explores the beauty and terror of personal disclosure and visceral catharsis in individual experience.  The boundaries between comfort and discomfort are deconstructed.  The opera unites the urgency of performance art with an intense narrative revealed by surrealistic visuals and music that combines the passion of modern experimentation with the beauty of classical composition.  Sacred 521 will feature a cast of Brooklyn’s most esteemed performance artists and musicians, collectively urging the audience to attend to their deepest emotions while maintaining a position of wonder and curiosity.  The Roots are Deities and the Deities are Roots.  They are Naked. They embody the Sacred Moment.

About the Artists

Naked Roots Conducive is an experimental and classically driven musical duo whose eclectic style bridges the gap between the traditional and wildly original. The duo combines virtuosic strings, alluring vocals, and freakish dramatics into an enticing and mesmerizing performance.

Naked Roots Conducive is the musical collaboration between violinist Natalia Steinbach and cellist Valerie Kuehne. The two combine their unique compositional styles in an intricate classical odyssey thickened by vocal harmonies and extended instrumental techniques. Naked Roots Conducive fuses Performance Art with hungry Post-Romanticism and Acoustic Noise while maintaining an intensely melodic beauty.

NRC’s performances pull the audience into a riveting narrative of truth as well as the surreal. Their song’s emotions are raw and honest while the performance art aspects are dramatically dream-like and bizarre.
